— About Pendula
A workshop built around the work.
Pendula was set up to offer a small number of watch care services carried out with patience and appropriate skill. No volume, no shortcuts.
← Back to Home— Our Story
How Pendula came to be.
Pendula began in Bang Lamung with a straightforward observation: most people bringing in a watch for attention wanted the work done well and wanted to understand what was being done. The volume-driven repair model often worked against both of those things.
The workshop was set up to handle a smaller number of pieces with more attention. Three services were chosen because they reflect the most common and meaningful points of care for someone who uses and values their watches regularly — strap and bracelet fitting, scheduled collection upkeep, and sympathetic vintage restoration.
Each service is handled personally. When you bring a piece in, the conversation you have at the front of the visit is with the same person who carries out the work. That's a structural choice, not a marketing point.
— Mission
What we're trying to do.
Focused scope
Three services, handled well. We don't try to cover every watch-related need — we focus on the areas where we can consistently offer something worth having.
Preservation first
Especially with older pieces, we default to doing less rather than more. Reversible work is preferable. Original character is worth keeping.
Honest communication
We tell you what a piece needs, what we can do, and what it will cost before anything is committed to. No pressure in either direction.
— The Team
The people behind the work.
Kraisorn Patamadit
Lead Watchmaker
Fourteen years of experience across mechanical and vintage work. Particularly at ease with mid-century movements and strap fitting for difficult cases.
Nattaya Thongsuk
Collection Care Specialist
Manages scheduled upkeep plans and client correspondence. Brings a systematic approach to rotation and condition tracking across diverse collections.
Sarawut Wongphan
Restoration Technician
Specialises in vintage dial and case work. Applies a conservative approach to refinishing, drawing on a background in traditional metalwork and surface restoration.
— Standards
How we hold ourselves to account.
Pre-work inspection
Every piece is assessed before a quote is given. We won't start work until the scope is agreed and the condition of the watch is documented.
Reversibility principle
For vintage and restoration work, reversible methods are preferred throughout. Where something cannot be undone, it is discussed and approved beforehand.
Documented condition records
Condition notes are made at intake and updated through the work. You receive a summary of what was done and what was observed at collection.
Specialist involvement
Each service type is handled by the team member with the closest relevant background. Vintage work stays with the restoration specialist; strap fitting is handled by the lead watchmaker.
Secure handling
Pieces are stored in a dedicated secure area when not on the bench. We don't leave work in progress unattended or accessible to visitors.
Post-work check
Before a piece is returned, it passes through a final review. Any observations that came up during the work are noted for your awareness, even if they fall outside the original scope.
— Our Approach
Watch care in Bang Lamung.
Pendula operates from a modest workshop on Beach Road in Bang Lamung, Chonburi — an area with a varied international resident and visitor community and a corresponding range of watch-related needs. The pieces that come through the workshop reflect that variety: daily wear watches in need of a new strap, inherited pieces requiring sympathetic attention, and collections that benefit from a structured care routine.
Watch care, at its most useful, is largely about staying ahead of deterioration rather than responding to it. Straps and bracelets wear down over time and benefit from assessment before failure. Mechanical watches running without regular checks can develop issues that are more involved to address than if they'd been caught earlier. Vintage pieces stored without occasional attention can suffer from dried lubricants and seal degradation. The three services offered by Pendula address these patterns directly.
The Collection Care Plan in particular reflects a preference that many owners share: knowing their pieces are being kept in order without having to notice every detail themselves. It's a service structured around communication and scheduling, with the practical work — checking, winding, light servicing — happening on a calendar that suits the collection and the owner's habits.
Vintage restoration is offered with a clear bias toward preservation. The aim is not to make an older watch look new, but to stabilise it and allow it to be worn or displayed without ongoing deterioration. Original dials, patina, and case finishes are respected wherever possible. Work that cannot be reversed is discussed before being undertaken.
