I've been on the collection care plan for about eight months now. It runs on a schedule set at the start of the year and I don't have to think about it. After each visit I get notes on what was checked and anything worth monitoring. For six pieces that I rotate, it works well. Pricing is reasonable for the number of pieces covered.

Needed a new strap on a dress watch — something that would sit well on a slim case without looking cheap. The conversation was helpful, three options were shown, and the fitting was done while I waited. Maybe twenty minutes in total. I've since sent two friends from the estate complex who had similar needs. Both were pleased.

Case Study 01 · Strap Fitting
A diving watch bracelet resized for long-term daily use
Challenge
The client had purchased a steel-bracelet sports watch secondhand. The bracelet was adjusted for a larger wrist and caused the case to rotate uncomfortably during use. The original spring bars were also beginning to show fatigue.
Approach
Links were removed to fit correctly, and both spring bars replaced. The bracelet clasp was also re-tensioned, which the client hadn't mentioned but was affecting the overall security of the fit.
Result
Completed in one visit, approximately 45 minutes. The client returned four weeks later for a minor further adjustment after settling into wearing it daily, which was done at no additional cost.
Case Study 02 · Collection Care
Annual care plan for a collection of eight mechanical pieces
Challenge
The client owned eight mechanical watches — a mix of daily wearers and pieces used only occasionally. Some had not been wound or inspected in over a year. The client had no reliable way to track when each piece had last been seen to.
Approach
A care plan was structured around six sessions across the year, each covering a rotation of three to four pieces. Condition baseline was established at the first visit. Notes from each session allow tracking of any developing issues across the collection.
Result
Running into its second year. One piece was flagged during the plan for a seal that would need attention before the monsoon season. The client was able to schedule this well in advance rather than discovering it when moisture became an issue.
Case Study 03 · Vintage Restoration
A 1950s dress watch — dial stabilisation and case care
Challenge
An inherited piece in running condition but with a dial showing deterioration at the edge and a case that had been over-polished at some point, losing some of its original brushed-steel character. The client wanted to stabilise both without making it look restored.
Approach
Dial edges were stabilised with a conservative, reversible treatment — no refinishing. Case surfaces were worked lightly to re-establish some of the original finish contrast without removing the honest wear of seventy years. Crystal replaced with period-appropriate acrylic.
Result
Six weeks. The client received condition documentation covering what was found, what was done, and what to monitor. The watch is now worn regularly, which was the stated aim. It looks like a cared-for older watch — which is what it is.
